1987-90 Two Ways

After my projects dealing with the superpower’s nuclear arms race and foreign exploits, I decided a deeper understanding was needed of the economic systems that drove such behavior. The Two Ways project was the result of that search for an understanding of the evolution of socialism and capitalism.  The project had multiple components: first, a research booklet he wrote to form a base of knowledge; second, a series of 36 two by three foot portraits of individuals who shaped the two systems; third, a series of 7 large pillar sculptures each symbolizing a time period of the evolution, and fourth, a 90 minute performance featuring myself and two other actors commenting on the strange history of economics.
